Legal Notice & Terms of Use

Please read this before relying on anything published on this website.

Last updated August 30, 2026.

This website does not provide legal advice, and the author is not a lawyer.

The person who writes rearming.us is a private citizen, not an attorney, not a licensed firearms instructor acting in that capacity, and not a government official. Nothing published here is legal advice, tax advice, or professional advice of any kind. Reading this site, contacting us, or linking to us creates no attorney-client relationship and no professional relationship of any kind.

Read the law for yourself, and consult a licensed Colorado attorney before you act.

1. What this site is

Rearming Us is a Second Amendment advocacy and commentary website published by Rearm US LLC (DBA Rearming Us). It summarizes statutes, ordinances, regulations, agency guidance, court filings, and news reports, and it argues a point of view about them. It contains a substantial amount of opinion, including characterizations of what laws do and why they were passed. Those passages are the author’s protected opinion and should be read as such, not as statements of established fact.

2. Not legal advice

Nothing on this site is legal advice or a substitute for it. Firearm law is unusually technical, unusually local, and unusually punitive: the same object can be lawful in one county and a felony in the next, and the difference often turns on details a website cannot know about your situation — where you live, where you are traveling, what you already own, when you acquired it, your prior record, and how a particular sheriff or district attorney reads a statute.

If your question is whether you may lawfully do a particular thing, this site cannot answer it. Ask a licensed Colorado attorney.

3. Read the primary sources

Every substantive page here links to the underlying material — the bill text, the statute, the ordinance, the signed court order, the agency’s own guidance document. That is deliberate. You are asked to read those sources yourself rather than take this site’s word for anything.

If anything on this site conflicts with the actual text of a statute, ordinance, regulation, or court order, the primary source controls and this site is wrong. Errors are corrected when identified, but no page should be treated as authoritative.

4. The law changes constantly

Colorado firearm law has changed materially in every recent legislative session, agencies revise their guidance, and the cases described here are live — motions are granted, orders are dissolved, appeals reverse, and statutes take effect or are enjoined on short notice. Court dockets can change daily.

Pages carry a “last reviewed” date. That date is the only point at which the page was checked. No commitment is made to monitor the law or to update any page, and material on this site may be out of date, superseded, or flatly incorrect by the time you read it. Absence of an update is not a representation that nothing has changed.

5. No warranty

All content is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, currency, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Case names, docket numbers, dates, quotations, statutory citations, and descriptions of status may contain errors or omissions.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rearm US LLC, its members, officers, contributors, and the authors of this site shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss, injury, fine, forfeiture, prosecution, denial of a permit or transfer, or other consequence whatsoever, arising out of or related to any person’s access to, use of, reliance on, or inability to use this website or anything published on it — whether the claim sounds in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

Your use of this site, and any action or inaction you take based on it, is entirely at your own risk.

7. No incitement, no unlawful use

This site advocates for changing laws through lawful means: litigation, legislation, elections, organizing, and public argument. Nothing here is an invitation, encouragement, or instruction to violate any law, to evade any legal requirement, or to possess, acquire, transfer, carry, build, or modify anything unlawfully. Criticism of a law is not permission to break it. Any description of what a law does or does not currently reach is descriptive commentary, not authorization.

8. Third-party links and materials

This site links to court dockets, government documents, news organizations, and advocacy organizations, and it hosts copies of public court filings and government documents for convenience. Those materials are the work of their authors, are reproduced as public records or under fair use, and may not reflect the current state of a case. Links are not endorsements. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices of any third-party site, and hosted copies may be superseded by later filings.

If you own material reproduced here and object to its use, contact us and it will be reviewed promptly.

9. Not affiliated with any government or organization

Rearming Us is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for the State of Colorado, any county sheriff, any court, the Colorado Department of Revenue, any federal agency, or any of the litigants, law firms, or advocacy organizations described on this site, except where an affiliation is expressly stated. References to those organizations are for identification and commentary.

10. Firearm safety and personal responsibility

Nothing on this site is firearms training or safety instruction. Safe handling, storage, and lawful carry are your responsibility, and formal instruction from a qualified instructor is strongly encouraged for everyone. Statements about any firearm’s design, construction, or regulatory classification are the author’s understanding only and should be verified with the manufacturer, your FFL, and counsel.

11. Individual accounts and identification

Where this site describes a personal experience, it reflects one person’s account of events as that person understood them. Such accounts are published with identifying details removed. They describe a particular interaction and are not a general rule, a claim about anyone’s legal compliance, or an assertion that any business or official acted unlawfully. A federally licensed dealer may lawfully decline any transaction at its discretion.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may be revised at any time without notice. Continued use of the site after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force, and the unenforceable provision shall be enforced to the greatest extent permitted by law.

14. Contact

Corrections are welcome and taken seriously. If you believe anything on this site is inaccurate or out of date, please say so, and cite the source, so it can be fixed or removed.

The short version

I am not a lawyer. This is advocacy and commentary, not advice. The law changes and this site may be behind it. Every claim here is linked to a primary source — go read it. Before you act on anything involving a firearm, talk to a licensed Colorado attorney. If this site is wrong and the law is right, the law wins.
